The FNSSS00012 - Payroll Administrator Skill Set provides individuals an overview of the skills and knowledge to process salary, superannuation, terminations and other common payroll related tasks. Ideally suited to individuals in job roles who perform payroll administration and payroll management tasks, this course provides an overview of operation requirements related to management of company payrolls.

The FNSSS00012 - Payroll Administrator Skill Set course comprises of core units of competency covering disciplines including:

  • Process salary packaging arrangements and additional allowances
  • Process superannuation payments
  • Process complex employee terminations
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of industrial regulations relevant to payroll
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of taxation systems relevant to payroll

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be awarded the FNSSS00012 - Payroll Administrator Skill Set.

The Units from this skill set may contribute to credit towards the FNS40217 - Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, FNS50217 - Diploma of Accounting and the FNS50417 - Diploma of Payroll Services.

Skill Set Entry Requirements

This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications.

We also recommend that students undertaking this course:

  • Are over 18 years of age at the time of commencement
  • Have successfully completed a year 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Have a strong grasp of computer/technical skills
  • Microsoft Office (or freeware equivalent) installed on their computer
  • Access to a reliable high-quality internet connection
  • Adequate literacy/numeracy skills

Course Duration

Students will be required to undertake 6 core units. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 18-week period.
