Ideally suited to individuals required to support marketing and communications within a business, this course provides an overview of core fundamental topics including:
- Making presentations and writing of complex documents
- Analysis of consumer behaviour
- Preparation, coordination and review of basic marketing activities
- Articulation, presentation and debate of ideas to provoke response, reaction and critical discussion
This course can be completed in conjunction with the BSBSS00102 - Micro Business Skill Set as part of the Marketing and New Business Short course.
Mentor Education’s BSBSS00107 - Marketing and Communication Foundations Skill Set is a nationally recognised qualification, complying with the AQF standard and ASQA standards for Registered Training Organisations.
Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be awarded the BSBSS00107 - Marketing and Communication Foundations Skill Set.
Units from this skill set may contribute to credit towards the BSB40820 - Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication.
Completion of this skill set may also allow prospective students to meet the requirements to undertake the BSB50620 - Diploma of Marketing and Communication by completing the following units: BSBCMM411 Make presentations; BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas; BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities; BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour; BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry; and BSBWRT411 Write complex documents.
Skill Set Entry Requirements
This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications.
We also recommend that students undertaking this course:
- Are over 18 years of age at the time of commencement
- Have successfully completed a year 12 certificate or equivalent
- Have a strong grasp of computer/technical skills
- Microsoft Office (or freeware equivalent) installed on their computer
- Access to a reliable high-quality internet connection
- Adequate literacy/numeracy skills
Course Duration
Students will be required to undertake 6 core units. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 18-week period.
