Ideally suited those starting a career in frontline technical support or those seeking an entry point into an ICT help desk support role, the ICTSS00107 - Introductory Help Desk Skill Set is a short course delivering core units of competency covering topics including:
- Processes associated with interaction and and resolution of queries with ICT clients
- Updating and maintainenance of hardware, software and documentation inventories
- Developing solutions for basic ICT malfunctions and problems
- Maintaining ICT system integrity
This short course can be completed as a standalone short course or can be combined with other related short courses. Individuals can also complete the IT and Cyber Security Short Course which includes this short course.
Mentor Education’s ICTSS00107 - Introductory Help Desk Skill Set is a nationally recognised qualification, complying with the AQF standard and ASQA standards for Registered Training Organisations.
Upon completion of this course, students will be awarded the ICTSS00107 - Introductory Help Desk Skill Set.
Units in this skill set may provide credit towards the ICT30120 - Certificate III in Information Technology.
Skill Set Entry Requirements
This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications.
We also recommend that students undertaking this course:
- Are over 18 years of age at the time of commencement
- Have successfully completed a year 12 certificate or equivalent
- Have a strong grasp of computer/technical skills
- Microsoft Office (or freeware equivalent) installed on their computer
- Access to a reliable high-quality internet connection
- Adequate literacy/numeracy skills
Students will be required to undertake 4 core units. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 16-week period.
