The Advanced Diploma of Accounting delivered by Mentor Education caters to individuals currently working in bookkeeping or accounting roles who are seeking to enhance and confirm their current knowledge and skills through completion of a formal nationally recognised qualification. The qualification is also ideal for students seeking upgrade their prior accounting qualifications.

The Advanced Diploma of Accounting course comprises of core units of competency covering disciplines including:

  • Application of legal principles in consumer, corporations and property law

The Advanced Diploma of Accounting contains units of competency required to satisfy the additional BAS agent education requirement of an approved course in basic GST/BAS taxation principles and units of competency included in the Tax Practitioners Board approved Australian Taxation and Commercial Law courses.

Overview

The Advanced Diploma of Accounting course caters to Individuals currently working in bookkeeping or accounting roles who are seeking a formal qualification to boost and confirm their existing knowledge and skills.

This qualification is ideal for those seeking the knowledge to prepare tax documentation for individuals, provide management accounting information, process financial transactions and extract interim reports. The course also contains units of competency included in the Tax Practitioners Board approved Australian Taxation and Commercial Law courses.

Entry Requirement

This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications. In order for you to successfully complete this course, it is recommended that you have a strong literacy and numeracy skills. Students may wish to undertake the completion of the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping (FNS40215), Certificate IV in Accounting (FNS40615) or the Diploma of Accounting (FNS50215) prior to completing this course.

Changes to the Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60215).

This course is now superseded and in teach-out and has been replaced by the Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60217).

Individuals who enrol into the Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60215) course will be offered the opportunity (subject to ASQA approval) to transition to the new Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60217) qualification.

Mentor Education has received approval from ASQA to commence delivery of the new Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60215) qualification. New students can commence studies from July 1, 2018.

Current students have until 13 February 2019 to complete their current course if they choose not to transition to the new qualification. For those students choosing to complete the transition module they will have an additional period of 6 months to complete the qualification.

Both versions of the Advanced Diploma of Accounting (FNS60215 & FNS60217) will continue to be Nationally Recognised qualifications accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
